What is a postpartum doula?

A postpartum doula is a trained professional that provides support to parents on the journey of new parenthood.

My primary role as a postpartum doula is to support new parents as they adjust to the physical, emotional and practice challenges that come with newborn parenthood.

As your postpartum doula, I will support you:

  • Emotionally - by listening, offering assurance and providing a safe space for you to express your feelings and experiences

  • Physically - assisting with newborn care, postpartum recovery care, breastfeed assistance and light housework

  • Education - providing evidence-based & non-biased information related to the fourth trimester

In my role as a postpartum doula, I am NOT a medical professional but rather a trained professional within the scope of postpartum support for mother, family and newborn baby, who can provide hands-on assistance, resourcing, encouragement and presence during the newborn and postpartum periods.

What does a postpartum doula do?

My main focus as a postpartum doula is to provide support during every step of the journey of new parenthood. This takes place through providing:

Support for the Mother:

  • Postpartum healing education

  • Physical & emotional postpartum healing support

  • Breastfeeding support

Support for the Baby:

  • Bottle feeding

  • Diapering

  • Soothing techniques

  • Age appropriate play & stimulation

Support for the Family:

  • Education about newborn care

  • Light housekeeping - dishes & laundry

  • Non-biased resources for the fourth trimester experience

  • Unlimited phone support during business hours

Postpartum Doula Packages

All current postpartum packages are for daytime postpartum doula services only.

I currently service postpartum clients within a 25 mile radius of 08809; a travel fee will be applied for distances beyond 25 miles.

Pricing below is based on the rate of $45/hour with each visit being 5 hours.

    1 Visit Per Week: $1350

    1 Visit Per Week: $1800
